Hello,
I am Rumilio Morales, publisher of kitesinseason.com. I live 45 minutes north of Calgary, Alberta in the town of Didsbury with my wife and two teenage sons. I was born in Trinidad and moved to Canada over 30 years ago.
I first fell in love with kiting when I was a boy, going out to the savanna with my brothers to go flying the kites we had made. I remember watching our kites dancing in the breeze. My brothers had kites called Mad Bull and mine was a Common Kite. These single line kites danced, they did what we called, bob and weave, ducking, and boy could they dive, almost reaching to the ground then back in the sky….wow. I was introduced to Dual Line Stunt kites when I moved to Canada…..wow. Now that’s what I call the best of both worlds.
As a family we go fly kites in the summer, as my sons and I have gained the experience and confidence of handling single line kites and are ready for something a little bit more challenging like dual line stunt kites. I’ll keep you updated on my progress. I would like to try kiteboarding one day. Now there’s a kiting story I’ll have to share with you. The sunshine, the beach, and a nice breeze as I cruise over the water, that sounds like fun as well.
